Sewing Machine Distribution - MCDF

The campaign was launched on August 24, 2022, in New Delhi, the capital city of India, by the Honorable Minister of Urban Development and Petroleum, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri. In the upcoming two programs, Honorable Hardeep Singh Puri ji and Member of Parliament, Shri Manoj Tiwari ji, were present to distribute free sewing machines to needy women. This campaign is still ongoing. Approximately 2,250 women have already been provided with sewing machines. These machines have been provided with the objective of making these sisters self-reliant and empowered. Through the “Saksham” project, these machines are used to create cloth bags, based on payment for their work. These bags are sold in the market as an alternative to polythene bags in Delhi, or provided to institutions that require them for maximum usage. Provision has also been made to provide beneficiaries with other products for sewing.
