Mata Chakeri Devi Foundation, with CSR support from Indraprastha Gas Limited, organizing 30 Free Health Check-up Camps in series of Health Mela under NHM in the Burari area of Delhi as part of the Health Mela initiative. These camps aimed at providing free healthcare access and raising health awareness among underprivileged communities.

Objective of the Health Mela:

The primary aim of the Health Mela initiative is to provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services to the underprivileged and marginalized communities of Burari, Delhi. This community outreach effort is focused on improving health outcomes through awareness, early diagnosis, and preventive care.

  • Promote preventive healthcare awareness
  • Offer free medical checkups and consultations
  • Educate people on healthy lifestyle practices
  • Spread information about government health schemes
  • Encourage early detection and timely treatment of common health issues

Participants received crucial health screenings, expert medical guidance, and valuable knowledge on preventive healthcare.

The following tests and medical services were provided free of cost in this health camp:

  1. Health Screening:
    Free screening of basic health parameters such as blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, vision, and general physical examination to detect early signs of common health issues.
  2. Awareness and Education:
    Health education sessions were conducted to inform participants about personal hygiene, disease prevention, healthy lifestyle practices, and awareness about non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and breast cancer.
  3. Basic Healthcare Services:
    General OPD consultations were provided by certified MBBS doctors for common ailments such as fever, cold, cough, weakness, digestive problems, etc.
  4. Specialized Healthcare Services:
    Services of specialists such as optometrists and pharmacists were included for eye checkups, vision correction advice, and basic medication counseling.
  5. Nutrition Counselling:
    Participants were advised on balanced diets, healthy eating habits, and nutritional supplements to improve immunity and overall well-being, especially for children, women, and the elderly.
  6. Immunization Services:
    Information and support were provided regarding routine immunizations. Some camps may also include vaccination drives in collaboration with government health departments.
  7. Diagnostic Services:
    Diagnostic support like blood sugar testing, hemoglobin checks, and BMI measurement were provided to help detect health issues at an early stage and recommend further investigation if required.
  8. Information Dissemination:
    Health workers and volunteers also explained government health schemes and encouraged participants to avail of public health services.

1st Health Checkup camp in series of Health Mela

Under the CSR initiative of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the Mata Chakeri Devi Foundation successfully organized the 1st Free Health Check-up Camp on 30th March 2025 (Sunday) at Kaushik Enclave, Burari, New Delhi. The camp was held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and witnessed an overwhelming response from the local residents. More than 300 beneficiaries availed themselves of free health services, including general health check-ups, blood pressure and sugar level monitoring, and consultations with qualified medical professionals. The camp also focused on spreading awareness about preventive healthcare and the importance of regular health screenings.

2nd Health Checkup camp in series of Health Mela

2nd Free Health Check-up Camp was conducted at Shiv Shakti Mandir, Harit Vihar, Burari, New Delhi, during the same time slot of 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This camp also received a positive response from the community, with around 200 beneficiaries attending. The attendees were provided with basic diagnostic services, personal consultations, and health awareness materials. The initiative aimed to bring accessible healthcare services closer to the underprivileged sections of society and promote community well-being through timely health interventions.
